Atlantic Language Services was originally founded in March 2000 by Didier Cavrot and Debbie Buse, who, between them, have over thirty years\' experience of the translation industry, not only as translators in their own right but also as founders/administrators of other successful translation companies. Debbie has been a full member of the Institute of Translation & Interpreting (ITI) for over 15 years.

In 2007, Atlantic Language Services was fortunate to be able to join forces with Prolingua Language Services to present a stronger front on the local translation scene and to diversify its services to include English and foreign language tuition and a more extensive interpreting service.

Stephanie Lewis of Prolingua now works together with Debbie and Didier within the new organisation to provide a wider range of language services to even more clients, both locally and throughout the whole of the UK and Europe. Their database of translators, interpreters and tutors is consequently more extensive, enabling them to offer more choice and a greater degree of specialization where needed.

John Readman joined the Atlantic Language Services team in September 2011 due to continued growth.

Atlantic Language Services has been a member of the Association of Translation Companies (ATC) since 2007.
